THIS YEAR'S GOLDEN APRICOT JURY WILL BE HEADED BY THE WINNER OF THE VENICE FILM FESTIVAL, DIRECTOR LAV DIAZ
This year, the jury of feature films of the 17th Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Yerevan will be headed by well-known Filipino director Lav Diaz.

The Filipino director won the "Best Director" award at the 77th Venice Film Festival a few days ago, without leaving Lido Island for the fourth time. Among the previous awards was the Golden Lion for the film "The Lost Woman" (2016), which was shown months later during the "Golden Apricot" film festival.

Among the director's honors are the Locarno Film Festival's Golden Leopard for "From the Past," and at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival, Diaz's "Secret of a Sad Lullaby" won the Alfred Bauer Silver Bear. :

"We are proud to announce that Lav Diaz is the chairman of the jury of feature films at the 17th Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Yerevan. I would like to emphasize that, as in previous years, this time the festival jury will consist of well-known names in the field. "Very soon we will announce the names of the juries of the other festival competitions," says Karen Avetisyan, program director of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival.

Due to the epidemic situation, the main events of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Yerevan this year will take place in the fall, from November 1-8. In July of this year, the festival presented the programs and projects of the GAIFF Pro innovative platform for the development of the film production sector of the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival, which is already well-known in the international film market, which were held online on July 13-16, becoming part of the July apricot life.
