First Concert dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of Armenian Jazz Legend was in Yerevan on December 8.
Famous bassist, musician and songwriter Avishai Cohen performed in Yerevan with a joint concert with the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia and Vahagn Hayrapetyan.
“There will be a lot of improvisations, and I don't even know what I'm going to present. I hear so many different styles of music and I am inspired by the desire to make changes in music,” - the musician said in an interview.
With the wonderful orchestra and Vahagn Hayrapetyan's brilliant piano intro, Cohen's work sounded in new colors, with unexpected boundaries.
By the way, he is not here for the first time. Music lovers remember Cohen's Yerevan concert in May 2017 with admiration. He also came up with the wonderful jazz pianist Jake Korea in 1997.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his spouse Anna Hakobyan attended the concert by the Israeli jazz percussionist, composer, singer, instrumentalist Avishai Cohen. Pianist Vahagn Hayrapetyan also performed at the Concert Complex after Demirchyan.
On December 25, at 19:30, Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Levon Malkhasyan. The evening will feature Malkhas and his friends. The organizer of the concerts is Prime Production.
Avishai Cohen was born in Jerusalem in 1970. He has been involved in music from an early age, starting with piano. For him, moving to New York with his parents in 1992 was fatal. There is a worker here working on construction, but the talent of music does not go unnoticed by music lovers. It is slowly gaining popularity. He has also collaborated with pianist Danilo Perez and Grammy laureate Chuck Korea.
