YOU Platform Presents Research Proposals on Youth Issues in the RA
Five research works on youth issues were presented during the "YOU Platform" meeting organized by EU4Youth on 14 November in Yerevan.

About YOU

YOU (Youth Organizations Union) is an open platform, which aims to build partnerships among state, local self-governing bodies, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders to address youth initiatives and work in the field of youth in Armenia. YOU currently unites 14 organizations, but the Platform is open to new members.

The goal of the discussion

The event was organized to present the research to YOU members and partners, highlighting the key information on youth issues, as well as research recommendations that would create a basis for further lobbying and advocacy for YOU.

This was particularly important in the framework of the upcoming YOU  meeting planned in December, which aims to bring together stakeholders from various layers for a series of panel discussions on youth strategy, and to ensure a participatory, inclusive and evidence-based approach that has been justified by the research presented during the meeting. This will enhance and ensure the linkage between youth strategy and the various youth-related challenges highlighted through various assessments.

The issues highlighted by the research covered youth employability issues, the gap between needs and demands in the labour market, youth involvement in agriculture, as well as the role of youth in peacebuilding.

The event was organized in the framework of "EU4Youth: Better Skills for Better Future" regional project (2018-2019) implemented owing to the funding from the European Union in Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine. In Armenia, the project is implemented by Save the Children International Armenian Representative Office in cooperation with OxYGen Foundation.

The project contributes to the development of the entrepreneurial potential of the disadvantaged youth, ensures their increased access to education and training opportunities for greater employability, and advocates for coherent and cross-sectoral youth policies at local, regional and national levels.
