Melkonyan sisters give charity concert in Yerevan
On November 4, the hall of the House-Museum of Aram Khachaturian hosted a charity classical music concert, which featured performances by 14-year-old pianist Eva Melkonyan and 12-year-old pianist Diana Melkonyan from Moscow.

The charity concert featured performances of the works of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Aram Khachaturian, Saint-Saëns, Piazzolla, Arno Babajanyan, Finogenov, Slonimsky and others.

All proceeds went to construction of the “Kind Shack”, which is being built by the rehabilitation center of the “Kind Mama” charitable organization. The Melkonyans had placed a transparent box in which visitors donated AMD 87,000, while the Melkonyans granted $1,000 for construction of the “Kind Shack”.

It was a wonderful concert held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere and ended with endless round of applause. The organizers say the girls might give their next concert in the garden of the “Kind Shack”.

P.S.: The sisters are recipients of the 1st-degree award of the AVE BOHEMIA International Competition and Festival of Art and gold medalists in the Instrumental Classics category (Prague, 22 March 2015), as well as recipients of the 1st degree of the Open Regional Competition of the Russian Federation (2014) and recipients of the 3rd degree award at the “Two Times Two: Four” Open Regional Competition for Piano Ensembles (2015, Moscow and Troyitsk).
