For five consecutive days, 20 young people of the borderline regions of Georgia and Armenia considered the current level of cross-border communication and the potential for development of that cooperation.
The following are the results of the workshop:
1. 10 primary directions for Georgian-Armenian cross-border cooperation were selected;
2. plans and projects for cross-border cooperation for the implementation of joint cross-border programs in the spheres of education, healthcare, environmental protection, the media and other sectors were developed;
3. a decision was made to show active participation in the development of the state youth policy and suggest enshrining cross-border communication of young people in the strategy on the state youth policy of the Republic of Armenia;
4. the results will be published in the form of an information resource and will be provided to the youth non-governmental organizations and groups operating in the borderline regions of Georgia and Armenia.
On the fourth day, the organizers of the workshop hosted Director of the “Youth Events Holding Center” SNCO Davit Hayrapetyan, who presented the state youth policy of the Republic of Armenia and answered several questions from the participants.
The workshop was held by the Community Consolidation and Support Center NGO with financial assistance from the RA Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs and with support from the “Youth Events Holding Center” SNCO. Georgia’s Union of Democratic Women of Marneuli and Civitas Georgica NGO also supported the event.
