Conference entitled “The Youth of Today Will Shape the Armenia of Tomorrow” was held
On December 19, the Public Diplomacy Benevolent Non-Governmental Organization held a conference entitled “The Youth of Today Will Shape the Armenia of Tomorrow”, gathering representatives of over 15 non-governmental organizations.

Among the attendees were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia Arman Navasardyan, President of the “For Sustainable Human Development” NGO, member of the Public Council Karine Danielyan, environmentalist Silva Adamyan and others.

The goal of the conference was to create a new platform that would be composed of members of youth non-governmental organizations who have many different kinds of progressive ideas, potential and aspirations to carry out several programs and make their contributions to shape the Armenia of tomorrow.

In his speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia Arman Navasardyan particularly touched upon the role and significance of non-governmental organizations not only at the global level, but also in Armenia and considered the role of NGOs an important one in the domestic and foreign policy of any country.

“Armenia has young people who can find solutions in crises, as well as in intricate, psychological, economic and political situations with their potential. I don’t agree with the misconception that young Armenians could have done more in the past. No, the youth of today can meet our expectations. Our youth must be able to give new solutions and present new proposals so that we eventually solve the problems that seem impossible to solve,” Arman Navasardyan said.

Navasardyan added that NGOs represent a great force in general. Consequently, no state institution is capable of hindering the efforts of those who play a role in public diplomacy. The Ambassador also attached importance to the relationship between public diplomacy and state diplomacy.

Environmentalist Silva Hakobyan attached importance to the youth’s active participation in environmental protection and stated that the youth were more active in the past.

“Our young people need to show new approaches for solutions to problems by investing their knowledge. We always talk about what needs to be done, but we don’t talk about how it needs to be done,” Silva Hakobyan and asked all young people to be more active.

The environmentalist also attached importance to the cooperation between the Government and the public sector. According to her, the two don’t cooperate much.

The attending NGO representatives gave speeches and presented the pivotal issues that they will be giving solutions to. The representatives also attached importance to the engagement of resilient young people.

The conference entitled “The Youth of Today Will Shape the Armenia of Tomorrow” and similar initiatives are truly of major significance in terms of consolidating NGOs and presenting the problems since, at the end of the day, all the NGOs are united around one idea-the idea of having a sustainable and economically powerful Armenia.
