The goal of the program is to help raise the level of awareness of beneficiary youth about participatory governance and engage them in community life and the process of local self-governance through new media. The program is also aimed at helping youth choose their professions, mitigating the problem with employment and improving the quality of communication between youth and local self-government bodies through the preparation of civic journalists.
Within the scope of the program, from November 17 to 20, Gyumri will host a training course that will provide the participants with knowledge about the mechanisms for publicity and transparency enshrined in the Law of the Republic of Armenia “On local self-governance”, the process of participatory governance, civic journalism, the right ways of taking photos and preparing materials, as well as new media and blogging. The participants will also create blogs to present their materials.
The course is designed for young Armenians of Gyumri between the ages of 16 and 30. Applicants must fill out the application form and submit it before November 12, 2016.
The participants will be selected based on their applications, and only the selected participants will be notified. Participation is free.
The program is being carried out with the support of the RA Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.
