NGO representatives enriched their knowledge
The course for non-governmental organizations is over.
From December 10 to 11, the RA Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs hosted a special course/seminar for non-governmental organizations in Yerevan. Through the “Organizing of Training” program aimed for the enhancement of skills and abilities of youth non-governmental organizations, the participants were introduced to the skills and ways of writing a plan, as well as the ways of drafting and submitting application forms for grant programs effectively and in line with standards that have been set. In an interview with Eritasard.am, Director of the Youth Events Holding Center SNCO David Hayrapetyan mentioned that the two-day course had brought together representatives of 60 non-governmental organizations. “It should be mentioned that there are representatives of non-governmental organizations who have these skills, and there are representatives of NGOs who are new and don’t have some skills.” The hosts of the course also provided details about planning the budgets for grant programs. Gagik Gabrielyan, 25, attaches great importance to such courses, but regrets to mention that the courses are short and there is a lot to talk about. Gagik represents the Shushan NGO, which is involved with organizing education for the disabled children of Yeghegnadzor. “These days, we were introduced to the right ways of submitting application forms for grant programs and budget planning. Of course, the knowledge that we gained these past two days is important, and the only thing left to do is to apply it in practice.” Lianna Zurabyan is from Gyumri and says the knowledge that she received is very important since her organization has just been established. “We have been carrying out our activities for several months. We have not actually carried out any program yet, and so this seminar provided us with the opportunity to gain knowledge that we will need in the future.” Liana represents Lotus non-governmental organization, which carries out its activities to revitalize youth life in Gyumri. Liana is happy that she was able to ask field experts her questions of concern during the course. After the course, the participants were granted certificates during a ceremony that Eritasard.am’s correspondent also attended. Mariam Hovuni
